I’m happy to say that my poem “Det är ingen ko på Isen” has been published Spit Poet Zine Vol. 6! I never thought I’d write a poem about a Swedish proverb… or some cows… but there you go, life can be surprising!!
Good things DO happen on Mondays! I am pleased to announce that my poem “White Ashes” will be published in the next issue of PHEMME!! Print copies can be purchased for $5.00 each, or four for $15.00. Support a literary magazine today!
SO Excited! I have a poem selected to be a part of “for a better world 2019”, the book of poems and drawings on peace and justice by greater Cincinnati artists. (or Cincinnati native born folks like me! )The book will be out before May 31, to coincide with the “SOS ART 2019” event (May 31 – June 9, at The Art Academy of Cincinnati.
So excited to present my first poem inspired by my new life in Santa Fé, New Mexico! It made it all the way to Scotland!!
My crazy poem inspired by Lewis Carrol which begins with a lettuce seed and ends with the Vorpahl sword (“Who are YOU?” said the Caterpillar) has found a home in Tattoo Highway! It will be out soon in the upcoming issue themed “Down the Rabbit Hole.”
Here is 2017 Federation of Writers Scotland Makar, Andy Jackson, reading his Patchwork Poem on the theme of Freedom for National Poetry Day in Glasgow. Andy composed this poem by using a line from each of the contributing FWS members! And YES! a line from my poem was included! I may be a US born poet of Irish and English ancestors although, in heart, I know I must have some Scottish blood as well. 🙂
Many thanks to the editors of WELTER, the literary journal of the University of Baltimore, for accepting my poem “The Secret is Laid Bare” for its next issue. Holy Mid-Atlantic! This is the first time one of my poems has found a home in Maryland. 🙂 And, once again, gratefulness to my critique group. You keep me at it week after week after week.
I am so excited about my new chapbook Notations: The Imagined Diary of Julian of Norwich. Each book is single signature and hand sewn. They make wonderful gifts for your special friends. (Not too early to think 🎄!)
And, yes! Invite me to do a reading in your home, garden, bookstore, winery, ruin bar, church and actually almost anywhere. Julian and I love to travel! Everyone needs a little bit of Julian in their lives! Just send me a note at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to Red Bird Chapbooks for publishing my book, which was written during a time of great sorrow and stress.
